Barnstorm 1.2.0: Dungeons, Lightbeak Doctor and a Welcome-Back Gift

Barnstorm 1.2.0 is rolling out on iOS and Android, and it's our biggest update so far. Until now, every Barnstorm battle was you against another player. This version adds a whole new way to play together: Dungeons, a co-op PvE mode where you and your friends fight monsters and bosses side by side. There's also a new epic card, new battle effects, a gift for returning players and a News tab in the Inbox.

Here's everything in the update.

Dungeons: a new PvE mode#

Dungeons are a break from the ladder. Instead of facing another player, you push through rooms of monsters controlled by the game, with a boss waiting at each stage.

• 4 dungeons to clear
• 51 monsters to fight
• 16 bosses standing in your way
• Up to 4 players in one team
• A treasure chest behind every boss

You can take a dungeon on with your friends or clanmates, up to four of you in one team. Beat a boss and you open the treasure chest behind it, so every boss you take down pays off.

New epic card: Lightbeak Doctor#

The Lightbeak Doctor is a new epic card with two jobs at once. He heals wounded allies around him, and his holy beam hurts and slows enemies. That makes him a support card that still pulls his weight in a fight: keep your front line standing, and slow down whatever is charging at it.

He fits naturally into Dungeons, where your team has to outlast long fights, but he's just as useful in a ladder push behind a sturdy tank. If you're rebuilding your deck around him, our Barnstorm decks guide is a good place to start.

Brand-new battle effects#

Explosions and spell zones have new effects. Fire, blasts and area spells now look and read better on the battlefield, so it's easier to see where a spell lands and what it covers in the middle of a busy siege.

Welcome back: 300 gems#

Been away for a while? If you haven't played for 7 days or more, a welcome-back gift of 300 gems is waiting for you when you return. It's our way of saying the bridge missed you, and a good excuse to come back and try Dungeons.

News tab in the Inbox#

The Inbox now has a News tab. Game news and events are collected in one place, so you can see what's new and what's coming up without leaving the game.
