In a tower defense farm game, the towers you pick matter more than how many you build. Crop Siege gives you 16 towers, from a 25-coin Slingshot to a 70-coin Laser Beacon, and coins are always tight because the same coins also buy seeds. These tower defense farm tips explain which Crop Siege towers to build first, what each one is really for, and where to put them so your crops survive the night.

Day ends, night falls, pests arrive. Everything you build during the day has to hold this road.

Tower defense farm tips: plan your coins around the night#

During the day you plant, harvest and build. At night the pests come. That means every tower competes with seeds for the same coins. A good rule for the early levels is to keep one cheap damage tower near the first bend of the road and spend the rest on crops until your income grows. Starting the night early also pays an early bonus, so do not wait for the timer once your defense is ready.

Best starter towers in Crop Siege#

Sprinkler302.0Faster crop growth plus a light slow

Lantern252.2Revealing hidden pests
Hay Barricade15on the roadStopping ground pests while they chew
  • Slingshot is your first answer to everything, and it is one of the few cheap towers that hits flyers.
  • Scarecrow does almost no damage at level 1, but its 35% slow (up to 55% at max level) keeps pests inside your other towers' range longer.
  • Sprinkler is half tower, half farm tool: it waters crops in range so they grow up to 1.7 times faster at max level.

Placement: build on bends and crossings#

Range is measured in tiles, so a tower on the inside of a bend covers two stretches of road at once. The best spots are corners, places where two roads pass close together, and the last stretch before the farmhouse. A Hay Barricade costs only 15 coins and goes right on the road: ground pests stop to chew through it, which gives every tower around it free hits.

Answer the pest, not the level#

  • Flying pests ignore the road. Use the Windmill (air only, its gusts push flyers back and slow them), the Slingshot, or later the Bubble Cannon.
  • Hidden pests cannot be targeted until a Lantern or a Moon Lamp reveals them. One Lantern near the middle of the road is enough on most levels.
  • Swarms melt under splash: the Pumpkin Catapult early, then the Lightning Rod, whose chain lightning jumps between 3 to 6 pests.
  • Bosses and tanks are what the Coconut Cannon is for: 90 damage per shot at level 1 and 210 at max level.

Upgrade or build new?#

Upgrades usually beat a second copy. A Slingshot goes from 10 damage to 22 for 75 more coins, while its range and fire rate rise too. Upgrade the towers that sit on your best bends first. Selling refunds half of what you spent, so move a tower only when a new level layout really calls for it.

Mid and late game towers worth saving for#

New towers unlock as you clear levels: the Bee Hive on level 3, the Pumpkin Catapult on level 6, the Coconut Cannon on level 12 and the Frost Tower on level 22. Later worlds add the Gear Turret, Spore Pod, Bubble Cannon and Laser Beacon, a piercing beam that burns everything along its line. Our Crop Siege worlds guide lists every world and boss so you can plan which tower you need next.

Quick tower checklist before every night#

  1. Is there a damage tower on the first bend?
  2. Do I have something that hits flyers?
  3. Is a Lantern covering the road if hidden pests are coming?
  4. Is a slow (Scarecrow, Sprinkler or Frost Tower) next to my splash tower?
  5. Did I spend my spare coins on upgrades instead of a sixth Slingshot?
