Privacy Policy

Crop Siege is a farm and tower defense game for iPhone, iPad and Android made by Softick Development ("Softick", "we", "us"). This policy explains what information is involved when you play the game, why, and the choices you have.

The Short Version

There are no accounts and no sign-in. Your progress stays on your device. Softick does not receive your name, email address, precise location or contacts from the game. To improve the game, it sends our server anonymous usage statistics linked only to a random install ID; you can switch them off in Settings at any time, and in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom they are off unless you switch them on. When you buy something on Google Play, our server checks the purchase with Google. The game shows ads through Google AdMob and sells optional items through the Apple App Store and Google Play; those companies process some information under their own privacy policies, as described below.

What Stays on Your Device

  • Your progress: levels, stars, gems, boosters, heroes, pets, skins and settings
  • Which one-time purchases you own (such as the Starter Pack or Remove Ads) and whether a Farm Pass is active
  • Simple gameplay statistics the game keeps for itself, such as levels played and wins, used to balance offers and rewards on your device

This information is kept in the game's private storage and is removed when you delete the app. Apart from the usage statistics and purchase checks described below, it is not sent to Softick. Your device's own backups (iCloud or Google) may include it, under Apple's or Google's terms.

Anonymous Usage Statistics

To understand how the game is played, improve it and fix its balance (for example, levels that are too hard), the game sends usage statistics to our own server at cropsiege.softick.dev, run by Softick. They contain:

  • a random install ID that the game creates when it is first opened, and a random ID for each play session. These IDs are not tied to your device, its advertising ID or who you are
  • the platform (Android or iOS), the app version and the game's language
  • gameplay events and when they happened: sessions, levels started and finished (with the result, stars, time and revives), ads watched, offers shown and accepted, purchases made, gems earned and spent, boosters used and shop visits
  • your approximate country, which our network provider works out from the connection. Our server sees your IP address only while it handles the request, to protect itself from abuse; the IP address itself is not stored

The statistics never include your name, email address, contacts, precise location, advertising ID or any other device identifier. We use them only to understand and improve the game, not for advertising, and we do not sell them.

Your choice: you can switch the statistics off at any time with the "Share anonymous usage stats" switch in Settings. For players in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the switch is off unless you turn it on. When it is off, the game sends no usage statistics and deletes the statistics on your device that it had not sent yet. Statistics we already received are deleted on the schedule below.

Advertising

Crop Siege uses Google AdMob, an advertising service by Google, to show optional rewarded video ads (for example a free revive or double gems) and occasional full-screen ads between levels. To deliver ads, measure them and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect information such as your device's advertising identifier (where available), IP address, device model and operating system, app version, and how you interact with ads. Google's use of this information is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

  • On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ads personalization in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
  • On iPhone and iPad, the game does not ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites, so Apple's advertising identifier is not shared with advertisers.
  • Where the law requires your consent for personalized ads (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), ads are shown on that basis, and you can choose non-personalized ads.
  • Any purchase in the game turns off the occasional full-screen ads, and the Remove Ads purchase turns them off for good. Rewarded ads are always optional.

Purchases

Optional in-app purchases (gem packs, bundles, the Farm Pass and Remove Ads) are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Softick never sees your payment details, name or email address. The store confirms each purchase to the game, including a purchase identifier, so the game can deliver your items and restore one-time purchases on another device. Apple's and Google's privacy policies apply to the payment.

Google Play purchase checks. When you buy something on Google Play, the game sends our server the order ID, the purchase token (Google's identifier for the purchase), the product, the price and currency shown to you, and the random install ID. Our server checks the purchase with Google, which also tells us the country of the purchase. We use this to confirm that a purchase is genuine before your items are delivered, to make sure one purchase is not used twice, to prevent fraud and to handle refunds (Google tells us when a purchase is refunded or canceled). These checks are part of delivering your purchase, so they happen whether or not usage statistics are switched on.

How Long We Keep It

  • Usage statistics: the individual events are deleted automatically after 180 days. After that we keep only aggregated counts (such as how many players finished a level on a given day) and a basic record of each install ID: when it was first and last seen, its platform, app version, language and country.
  • Purchase records: as long as we need them for accounting, tax and fraud prevention. The log of each purchase check stores a one-way hash instead of the purchase token and is deleted after 180 days.
  • Support messages: only as long as needed to help you, and deleted on request.

Who Else Sees Your Information

We share information only as described here: Google receives the advertising information described above and handles Google Play purchases, and Apple handles App Store purchases; our hosting and network providers (such as Cloudflare, which tells our server the approximate country of a connection) process data for us only to provide their service; and we disclose information when the law requires it or to protect players and the game from fraud and abuse. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for advertising.

Children

Crop Siege is made for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through our support form or by email, contact us and we will delete it.

Contacting Us

If you email us or use the support form on this website, we receive what you send, such as your name, email address, device and message, and use it only to answer you. Messages from the form are delivered through our email provider. We keep support messages only as long as needed to help you and delete them on request.

Your Choices and Rights

You can switch off usage statistics in Settings at any time, and deleting the app removes the game information on your device. The statistics and purchase records we hold are linked only to a random install ID, not to your name, so we usually cannot tell which records are yours: if you want us to find or delete them, email us with anything that identifies them (for example a Google Play order ID) and we will help, keeping only the purchase records the law requires. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, to object to or restrict its use, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data protection authority. For advertising data, use the controls above or contact Google. We do not sell personal information.

Changes

If a future version adds a feature that uses data differently, such as cloud saves, we will update this policy before it ships and change the effective date above.
